Pages are going live and earning zero AI citations.
Content investment in the US has never been higher. Teams are producing more pages, more detailed guides, more expert content than at any point in the history of digital marketing. But AI engines are more selective than search engines ever were. They don't cite pages because those pages are well-written or well-ranked. They cite pages that meet specific criteria at the query level — criteria that have nothing to do with word count, publication date, or author credentials if the structural and authority signals aren't present. A page can rank on page one in Google and still earn zero AI citations, and most businesses have no way of knowing that's happening until they measure it.
