CRO AUDIT

The conversion problem isn't the traffic — it's the friction on the page

You're running paid traffic at real spend levels. The clicks are landing. But whether it's trial sign-ups that stall, demo bookings that don't complete, or checkout flows that lose buyers three steps in — the conversion rate isn't reflecting the traffic quality. A CRO Audit identifies the specific friction points costing you conversions — not general best practices, but evidence-based findings from your actual pages, your actual traffic, and your actual conversion gaps.

5-day audit turnaround · Prioritised friction list with revenue impact estimates · 30-day optimisation roadmap included · SaaS, DTC, and B2B conversion paths all covered
This is for you if

This audit is for growth teams where traffic quality isn't the problem

SaaS: Trial sign-ups stall, onboarding drop-off is high — You're driving qualified traffic to a free trial or freemium sign-up page. Sign-ups are happening but activation is low — users aren't completing onboarding, not reaching the core value moment, and churning before they convert to paid. That's a friction problem in the conversion path, not a product problem. The audit identifies exactly where the path breaks and what's preventing activation.

DTC: Cart abandonment and checkout friction are eating margin — You're running paid social and search at scale. Add-to-cart rates look reasonable. But checkout completion is under-performing. The gap between add-to-cart and purchase completed is a friction audit in itself — trust signals at the payment stage, shipping cost reveal timing, form field count, guest checkout availability, and mobile checkout layout are all specific audit points.

B2B: Demo booking form friction and low-quality pipeline — Your paid campaigns are generating interest but the demo booking page isn't converting at the rate your traffic quality should support. The form is too long, the qualification questions are creating resistance, the page doesn't reinforce why booking the demo is worth 30 minutes of a senior buyer's time, or the mobile layout is making the form nearly unusable. These are fixable friction points, not traffic quality issues.

What's broken

Four friction sources that drive down conversion rates across SaaS, DTC, and B2B pages

Messaging mismatch between ad and landing page

US buyers — especially at higher CAC levels — are fast to dismiss pages that don't immediately confirm they're in the right place. When the ad copy speaks to a specific pain, feature, or offer, and the landing page opens with a generic value proposition, the signal is that the page wasn't built for them. Message match between ad and page is the first thing we audit because it determines whether anything else on the page even gets read.

Trust gap at the decision moment

The type of trust signal that moves a US buyer varies by vertical. SaaS buyers want G2 or Capterra ratings, named enterprise logos, and security certifications. DTC buyers want review counts with star ratings, user-generated content, and transparent return policies visible before checkout. B2B buyers want named case study clients, specific ROI claims with attribution, and recognisable logos from their industry. Generic testimonials without specificity or platform attribution do almost no conversion work at the moment a buyer is deciding whether to proceed.

Form friction across every conversion type

Trial sign-up forms that ask for a credit card when competitors don't. Demo booking forms with six qualification fields before the calendar appears. Checkout forms with mandatory account creation. Each of these friction patterns has a measurable abandonment cost, and each is one of the most common CRO findings we encounter. The minimum viable field set for the conversion goal is almost always shorter than what's currently on the page.

Mobile layout that breaks the conversion path

US paid traffic on mobile is the majority for most DTC brands and a significant portion for SaaS and B2B. A checkout page that stacks poorly on iPhone 14 Pro, a demo booking calendar that doesn't render on Android Chrome, or a trial sign-up form that triggers the wrong mobile keyboard on the email field — these are real conversion leaks that don't appear in desktop-only QA. Mobile layout testing on actual device conditions is a specific and separate part of the audit.

What we engineer

Eight areas we audit on every page receiving paid traffic

Above-the-fold messaging match

We assess whether the headline, subheadline, and hero section of your landing page directly mirrors the ad that drove the click — in language, offer framing, audience specificity, and visual hierarchy. For SaaS, this includes checking whether the trial value proposition on the page matches the ad creative. For DTC, whether the product claim and visual match. For B2B, whether the pain point or ROI frame carries through.

CTA hierarchy and placement

We map every conversion point on the page, assess the clarity and specificity of the primary CTA, and check visibility on mobile without scrolling. We identify whether secondary CTAs are supporting or undermining the primary conversion goal — a common issue on B2B pages where multiple options (demo, contact, download) create decision paralysis.

Trust signal placement and relevance

We audit the type, placement, and specificity of every trust element on the page against the vertical and audience. G2 badges above the fold for SaaS. Return policy and review count near the add-to-cart button for DTC. Named case study references and industry logos near the demo booking form for B2B. Placement relative to the primary conversion point is as important as presence.

Form UX and field count

We review every form on the page for field necessity, label clarity, mobile keyboard behaviour, error state design, and whether the form asks for information that's premature in the buying journey. We identify the minimum viable field set and document which fields are most likely causing abandonment.

Social proof relevance and specificity

We assess whether testimonials, case studies, and review aggregates contain the specificity needed to move a US buyer in your vertical — named companies, measurable outcomes, role-relevant perspectives, and review volumes that signal market validation rather than token feedback.

Page speed and Core Web Vitals

We run your pages against Google's Core Web Vitals benchmarks on both desktop and mobile, identify which metrics are failing, and estimate the conversion impact. For high-spend paid campaigns, page speed failures are a direct and quantifiable cost.

Mobile layout integrity

We test on multiple iOS and Android screen sizes with attention to CTA visibility, form usability, tap-target sizing, font readability, and layout stability. For DTC checkout and SaaS trial sign-up, mobile layout testing on real device conditions is one of the highest-impact audit areas.

Thank-you page and follow-up sequence

We audit what happens after conversion — for SaaS, the onboarding email sequence and activation path; for DTC, the post-purchase confirmation and upsell sequence; for B2B, the demo confirmation, reminder cadence, and pre-call nurture sequence. The post-conversion experience is part of the revenue equation and is routinely under-built.

What changes

What you receive at the end of the audit

Before
After
Before Prioritised friction list
After Every friction point is documented, categorised by type (messaging, UX, trust, technical, follow-up), and ranked by estimated conversion impact. The list is built for a growth team — highest commercial impact first, with enough context to understand the ranking and act without needing to re-interpret the findings.
Before Revenue impact estimates per fix
After Each friction point is accompanied by an estimated conversion improvement and a revenue impact estimate based on your traffic volume, conversion rate gap, and average deal or order value. These estimates are the basis for prioritising implementation resources against expected return.
Before 30-day optimisation roadmap
After The friction list is translated into a sequenced 30-day plan with specific actions, copy changes, layout adjustments, and technical fixes. The roadmap is structured by week, with implementation complexity noted so engineering, design, and copy resources can be allocated before work begins.
Before Test framework for ongoing improvement
After We identify which changes are high-confidence enough to implement directly and which require A/B testing to validate. For each test recommendation, we outline the hypothesis, the primary metric, the control and variant structure, and the sample size required for statistical significance. For US-based growth teams running meaningful traffic volumes, this framework becomes the operating model for ongoing conversion improvement.
Common questions

FAQ

How long does a CRO Audit take?

The audit is completed in five business days from the date you provide access and confirm the URLs. The five days cover the full audit, report writing, and the debrief session. Contact us@ignitednepal.com if you need the audit delivered against a specific sprint or campaign timeline.

Do you cover SaaS onboarding flows and checkout funnels, or just landing pages?

The audit covers the full conversion path from the paid ad click to the completed conversion — and for SaaS, through the onboarding sequence to the activation event. For DTC, this includes the cart and checkout flow. For B2B, the demo booking path through to the pre-call confirmation sequence. The scope is agreed in the intake call, and we flag if the conversion path requires additional pages beyond the initial scope estimate.

We already have heatmaps and session recordings — do you use those?

Yes. If you have Hotjar, FullStory, Heap, or equivalent data, we incorporate it into the audit. Behavioural data significantly increases the precision of friction identification — it allows us to pinpoint where people stop scrolling, where they click away from forms, and where the mobile layout is breaking in real user sessions. If you don't have heatmap data, we work from the structural and technical audit and note where behavioural data would increase confidence in specific findings.

How does this differ from our internal conversion reviews?

Internal reviews tend to focus on what the team already suspects is wrong or what's easiest to change. A CRO Audit is structured around evidence — behavioural data, Core Web Vitals testing, device-level layout testing, and a systematic review of the full conversion path against what a first-time visitor from your specific paid audience actually experiences. The findings often surface friction that internal reviews consistently miss because familiarity with the page creates blind spots.

What happens after the audit — do you implement the changes?

The CRO Audit delivers the findings, the prioritised list, the revenue impact estimates, and the roadmap. Implementation is a separate engagement. Many growth teams implement the roadmap using their existing engineering and design resources. If you need implementation support, contact us@ignitednepal.com to discuss scope and pricing.
