LANDING PAGES

Three types of conversion. Three different page structures. One 10-day build.

A DTC purchase page, a SaaS trial sign-up page, and a B2B demo booking page are not variations of the same template — they are fundamentally different conversion events with different visitor psychology, different proof requirements, and different friction points. Building them the same way is the reason most paid traffic does not convert.

This is for you if

For US businesses running paid campaigns that are underperforming against benchmarks

The DTC brand spending on Meta and Google Shopping — You are running product-focused ad campaigns and sending traffic to a product detail page or collection page that was designed for organic and returning visitors. Your paid traffic conversion rate is below the 2–4% range typical for well-optimised DTC landing pages. The gap between your current rate and that benchmark is a page problem, not a product problem.

The SaaS company running paid search for trial sign-ups — You have a Google Ads campaign targeting high-intent search terms and sending traffic to your pricing page or homepage. Trial sign-up rates from paid traffic are lower than from organic. The page visitors land on covers your full product — features, integrations, pricing tiers, enterprise options — and the visitor who just searched for a specific use case has to navigate through all of it to find the relevant sign-up path.

The B2B company running ABM or demand gen campaigns — You are running LinkedIn or Google campaigns targeting decision-makers at specific company sizes or industries. The destination is a general "Request a Demo" page that was not written for the specific audience or industry being targeted. The page does not acknowledge the visitor's context, their likely objections, or why your product is relevant to their specific role.

What's broken

What's Broken

Homepage as landing page

The US paid search market is among the most competitive in the world — CPCs in SaaS, legal, insurance, and B2B categories routinely exceed $50–$100 per click. Sending that traffic to a homepage is a structural waste. The homepage is built for brand awareness and exploration. The paid visitor is not exploring — they responded to a specific ad about a specific offer and arrived expecting confirmation of that offer.

Message mismatch

A DTC ad says "60-day money-back guarantee — try risk-free." The product page the visitor lands on does not mention the guarantee above the fold. A SaaS ad says "free trial, no credit card required." The trial sign-up page requires a credit card. A B2B ad says "built for enterprise security teams." The landing page shows a generic product overview with no mention of security use cases. In each case, the ad made a promise the page did not keep — and conversion rate reflects it.

No conversion tracking

US paid campaigns frequently have conversion tracking configured but not verified. Google Ads reports conversions but GA4 shows a different number. The discrepancy is caused by duplicated events, incorrectly scoped conversion actions, or thank-you page events firing on load rather than on form submission. Campaign optimisation is running on inaccurate data, which means Smart Bidding is trained on the wrong signal.

One page structure for three conversion events

A page built to drive a purchase decision is not the same as a page built to capture a demo booking. Purchase pages need product specificity, social proof quantity, price anchoring, and a low-friction checkout path. Trial sign-up pages need a single above-fold form, a short value proposition, and proof that the trial is genuinely free. Demo booking pages need credibility signals, persona-specific copy, and a calendar widget or short form — not a generic contact form. Using one template across all three breaks the conversion logic of each.

What we engineer

What We Do

Strategy and message mapping

We identify the conversion event the page exists to drive — purchase, trial sign-up, or demo booking — and build the brief around that specific event. For DTC builds, we document the offer, the guarantee, and the proof available. For SaaS, we document the trial friction points and what the first meaningful moment of value is. For B2B, we document the buyer persona, the ICP, and the objections a first-time demo request visitor is carrying.

Wireframe and copy

Full wireframe and copy are produced for the specific conversion event and audience. DTC wireframes account for product imagery hierarchy, review volume, and purchase-path friction. SaaS wireframes account for above-fold sign-up placement, feature proof, and trial credibility signals. B2B wireframes account for persona acknowledgment, social proof format (logos, case study snippets, or data), and CTA framing that reduces perceived commitment.

Design and build

DTC builds are done in Shopify. SaaS and B2B builds are done in Unbounce or Webflow. Mobile-first across every build. Page speed is treated as a build constraint — US paid traffic abandons slow pages quickly and Google Ads Quality Score is affected by page experience. Every build is checked against Core Web Vitals before launch.

Conversion tracking

All conversion events are installed and individually verified. For DTC, purchase and add-to-cart events are confirmed in both GA4 and Google Ads. For SaaS, trial sign-up events are checked for deduplication across GA4, Google Ads, and any CRM event pipeline. For B2B, demo booking confirmations are verified and HubSpot or Salesforce integration is confirmed if in scope. You receive a tracking verification document before launch.

A/B testing framework

The first test is structured based on conversion event type. For DTC, we typically test guarantee copy placement or product image variant. For SaaS, we test above-fold headline or form friction reduction (email only vs email + name). For B2B, we test CTA framing — "Book a demo" vs "See it in action." Each test is documented with a hypothesis and required sample size before the page goes live.

What changes

What Changes

Before
After
Before If your current pages are below these ranges, the gap is identifiable and addressable at the page level before touching the campaign.
After Conversion rates measured against relevant benchmarks — DTC landing pages built for paid traffic convert at 2–5% for cold audiences in most categories; SaaS trial pages at 3–8% depending on trial friction; B2B demo pages at 2–5% depending on offer commitment and audience temperature.
Before Campaign optimisation running on inaccurate or duplicated conversion data.
After Smart Bidding trains on accurate conversion data — when Google Ads conversion tracking is correctly configured, the right events firing under the right conditions without duplication, Smart Bidding algorithms optimise toward real conversions rather than phantom events. The quality of your bidding strategy is directly proportional to the accuracy of your conversion data.
Before Rebuilding the page infrastructure each time you add a new campaign.
After Paid campaign scalability — a DTC brand with a dedicated page per product or offer can test new campaigns against known conversion infrastructure. A SaaS company with a dedicated trial sign-up page per use case can run targeted search campaigns without rebuilding the page for each. A B2B company with persona-specific demo pages can run LinkedIn ABM campaigns with confidence that the destination is built for the audience being targeted.
Before Unclear which keywords produce which outcomes across the funnel.
After Clear attribution across the funnel — when each page is built for one conversion event and that event is correctly tracked, you have clean attribution from ad click to conversion across DTC, SaaS, and B2B funnels. You know which keywords produce purchases, which produce trial sign-ups, and which produce demo bookings — and you can allocate budget accordingly.
Common questions

FAQ

What conversion rate should a US landing page be hitting?

Conversion rate benchmarks vary by category, offer type, and traffic temperature: DTC purchase pages typically convert cold paid traffic at 2–5%; SaaS trial sign-up pages at 3–8% depending on friction in the sign-up flow; B2B demo booking pages at 2–5% depending on audience intent and offer commitment. These are starting benchmarks, not ceilings — well-optimised pages with clear message match routinely exceed these ranges.

Do you build landing pages for all three conversion types, or do you specialise?

We build for all three — DTC purchase pages in Shopify, SaaS trial and B2B demo pages in Unbounce or Webflow. The brief stage determines which conversion event the page is built for, and that decision drives the wireframe structure, the copy approach, and the tracking setup. We do not apply one template across all three.

Can you work with our existing paid media team?

Yes. The landing page build is independent of campaign management. We receive a brief on the campaigns, build the pages, and deliver the destination URLs with tracking verification documentation. We can also review campaign structure as part of the message match audit if it would improve the brief.

Our SaaS product has multiple use cases — do we need a page per use case?

If you are running campaigns targeting different use cases with different ad copy, yes. A visitor who clicked an ad about your project management feature lands on a page that speaks directly to that use case — not a general product overview. The conversion rate difference between a use-case-specific page and a general product page is consistent and measurable in most SaaS categories.

How does the A/B testing framework work after the page is live?

The first test is structured before the page goes live — hypothesis, variant definition, and required sample size for 95% statistical confidence are documented at launch. We typically run tests for two to four weeks depending on traffic volume before reviewing results. Learnings from each test inform the next variant. We provide the framework; ongoing test management is available as a separate engagement.

If you are running paid campaigns in the US and your page was not built for the specific conversion you are trying to drive, the fix is measurable and fast.

The gap between a homepage used as a paid traffic destination and a purpose-built landing page — for a purchase, a trial, or a demo — is the most consistently improvable variable in a paid acquisition channel. The build is 10 days. Tracking is verified before launch. The first A/B test is structured before the page goes live.
