ANALYTICS & TRACKING SETUP

Every paid decision runs on data — make sure yours is accurate

Most Nepal businesses that moved from Universal Analytics to GA4 have incomplete migrations: missing conversion events, no GTM installation, and purchase data that can't be trusted. We audit what you have, fix what's broken, and build a tracking foundation your paid acquisition team can rely on.

Who This Is For

This service is built for businesses where the data coming out of their analytics doesn't match what they know is happening.

Running paid ads with no reliable attribution — You're spending on Google Ads or Meta but your conversion data is either empty, inconsistent, or not connected to actual revenue. You don't know which campaigns are producing returns because the tracking was never set up properly — or was set up once and never verified.

Stuck in the Universal Analytics to GA4 transition — Your GA4 property exists but it was created during the migration rush and hasn't been properly configured. Key events aren't marked as conversions. Custom dimensions are missing. You're looking at GA4 reports that don't reflect what your business actually cares about measuring.

Business owner who suspects the numbers are wrong — Something doesn't add up. Your GA4 says 40 purchases last month, your Shopify or WooCommerce dashboard says 28, and Google Ads is claiming credit for 60. You know the data is off but don't know where the discrepancy is coming from or how to fix it.

What's broken

What's Broken

Duplicate purchase events inflating conversion counts

GA4 fires the purchase event multiple times for the same transaction when both the native Shopify/WooCommerce integration and a GTM trigger are active at the same time. The result: conversion counts that are 2x or 3x reality, making every campaign look more efficient than it is.

GTM containers full of zombie tags

Most GTM containers in use today were set up years ago and never cleaned. Tags fire on every page from campaigns that ended, platforms that were abandoned, and pixels that no longer have matching ad accounts. Each zombie tag is dead weight that slows page load, creates potential data conflicts, and makes it harder to trust what's actually live.

No conversion event setup in Nepal-based campaigns

Google Ads campaigns in Nepal frequently run without any conversion action linked. The campaign is live, budget is being spent, and the algorithm has no signal to optimise toward. Without a verified conversion event, Smart Bidding has nothing to learn from.

Last-click attribution treating all credit as a single channel

When a customer sees a Meta ad, searches your brand on Google, and then converts — last-click gives 100% of the credit to the brand search. Every other touchpoint is invisible. Decisions get made based on which channel appears at the end of the path, not which channels actually drove the customer.

What we engineer

What We Do

GA4 Property Configuration

We audit your existing GA4 property or build one from scratch. This includes configuring key events, marking the right ones as conversions, setting up custom dimensions for campaign parameters and user properties, enabling enhanced measurement where appropriate, and connecting GA4 to your Google Ads account for bidding signals.

GTM Container Audit and Event Schema

We audit every tag, trigger, and variable in your container. Zombie tags are paused or removed. A clean event schema is designed that covers page views, scroll depth, clicks, form submissions, and purchases — each with a consistent naming convention. The data layer is documented so your development team or future agency can extend it without breaking existing tracking.

Google Ads and Meta Conversion Events

We set up verified conversion actions in Google Ads — including import from GA4 and direct tag-based conversion tracking for checkout completions and lead form submissions. Meta Pixel is audited and a server-side event configuration is recommended where applicable. Duplicate events are deduped using event ID matching.

Call Tracking

For businesses that receive leads by phone, we configure call tracking using either CallRail or native Google Ads call extensions with conversion counting. Phone calls from ad clicks are tracked as conversion events, giving campaigns visibility into a lead source that is otherwise invisible in digital analytics.

CRM Offline Conversion Import

If your sales happen offline — through a sales team, via phone, or after a consultation — we configure offline conversion import to bring closed deal data back into Google Ads. This connects what happens in the CRM (a deal marked as won) back to the original ad click that started the journey.

Google Merchant Centre Setup

For e-commerce businesses, we audit your Merchant Centre account for feed errors, suppressed products, and missing attributes. We link Merchant Centre to Google Ads and verify that the purchase conversion action is pulling from the same source of truth as your GA4 property — not a separate, unconnected tag.

What changes

What Changes

Before
After
Before Conversion data you can trust
After Your GA4 purchase count, your Shopify/WooCommerce order count, and your Google Ads reported conversions will align within a normal variance range. When they don't, you'll know why — and you'll have a data layer document that tells any developer exactly where to look.
Before Smart Bidding with real signals
After Google's automated bidding works by learning from conversion data. When that data is accurate and timely — rather than duplicated or absent — Target CPA and Target ROAS strategies have what they need to improve. Campaigns that had no conversion history start accumulating it.
Before A clean GTM container going forward
After Your container will have only the tags that are currently active and serving a purpose. Each tag will be named, documented, and assigned to a responsible team or tool. New tags can be added without risk of breaking existing tracking.
Before Full-path visibility into what drives conversions
After With proper event tracking and attribution configuration, you stop making decisions based on the last click alone. You can see which channels initiate journeys, which assist, and which close — and budget across the funnel based on actual contribution, not proximity to the conversion.
Common questions

FAQ

Will you change anything in our live site during setup?

GTM changes are deployed through the container and only go live when you approve the version publish — nothing touches your site code directly unless a data layer change requires developer involvement, which we scope in the audit and schedule in advance.

We already have a GA4 property. Do we start over?

We start with an audit of what exists before recommending any changes. In most cases, the existing property is retained and configured correctly rather than rebuilt — the goal is the least disruption path to accurate data, not a clean-sheet rebuild.

Our developer set up GTM two years ago. Is that a problem?

Two-year-old GTM containers are exactly what this service is designed to address. We audit every tag, identify which are still active and necessary, pause or remove what is not, and document everything that remains so you have a clear record.

Do we need CallRail or is there a cheaper option?

CallRail is recommended for businesses that need call recording and routing alongside conversion tracking. For simpler needs — tracking whether a phone number was clicked from an ad — Google Ads native call tracking is available at no additional platform cost. We configure whichever is appropriate for your call volume and budget.

What happens if something breaks after you hand over the setup?

The handover documentation includes a QA checklist and a description of what correct event behaviour looks like in GA4 DebugView. If a tag stops firing after a site update, the documentation tells your team exactly where to look. We also offer an optional 30-day monitoring period for businesses that want ongoing verification support.

Your tracking should confirm what you already know — not contradict it

If your GA4 numbers don't match your Shopify dashboard, if your Google Ads campaigns have no conversion history, or if you migrated from Universal Analytics and have never verified what made it across — this setup is the first thing that should happen before any more budget goes out the door.

10-day turnaround. Full audit before any changes. You own everything we build.
