Layered navigation doubles the junk URL problem in bilingual stores
The problem: A Magento store with Arabic and English catalogue interfaces generates layered navigation filter URLs in both languages. Colour filters in Arabic (لون=أحمر) and English (?color=red) create separate URL sets, each with its own permutations. On a large GCC retail catalogue, this doubles the crawl waste problem. Why it matters: Google's crawl budget is finite. Bilingual filter URL proliferation is twice as costly to clean up — and twice as invisible to agencies that don't understand the Magento bilingual architecture.
