SHOPPING ADS

Nepali exporters cannot run Google Shopping directly — here is the entity structure that makes it work

Google Merchant Centre does not support Nepal as a shopping country. If you are a Nepali exporter selling physical products internationally, you need an overseas entity, a correctly structured feed, and campaigns built for the market you are selling into — not the market you are based in.

This is for you if

Who this is for

You have a Shopify store. You are shipping handcrafted goods, apparel, or specialty products to international buyers. You have tried to set up Google Shopping and hit a wall: Merchant Centre either rejects your account or suspends it because your registered business address is in Nepal. You know Shopping ads exist and you know your competitors are using them. You need someone to map out the entity structure that makes it possible.

You have a business entity registered overseas — an Australian ABN or a US LLC — but your team and fulfilment are based in Nepal. Your Shopify store is live but your Merchant Centre account is inconsistent: sometimes the business address is Nepal, sometimes it reflects the overseas entity. Feed errors accumulate. Campaigns either do not run or they run on incorrect data. You need a clean setup that reflects your actual business structure.

You are moving Nepali-manufactured products — textiles, wellness goods, homewares — through your own DTC channel to international buyers. You have Google Ads running (search, maybe display) but Shopping has never worked. The feed was attempted once, nothing ran, and it was abandoned. You are ready to invest in Shopping properly if someone can show you the path.

What's broken

What is broken

Merchant Centre suspended because Nepal is not a supported Shopping country

Google Shopping campaigns run through Google Merchant Centre, which requires the business to be registered in a supported country. Nepal is not on that list. When a Nepali business address is used during Merchant Centre setup, the account is either rejected at verification or suspended shortly after. This is not a fixable error inside Merchant Centre. It requires a structural solution before any feed work begins.

Product feed in Nepali Rupees

Shopping campaigns serve ads in the currency of the target market. A feed priced in NPR will not run for Australian, American, or British buyers. Google requires the feed currency to match the target country's standard currency: AUD for Australia, USD for the US, GBP for the UK. If your Shopify store is priced in NPR because your domestic market is Nepal, the feed needs to be rebuilt or duplicated with correct currency mapping before a Shopping campaign can go live.

Product titles written for Nepali buyers, not international search queries

A product titled "Handmade Dhaka Fabric Bag" reflects how the product is described in Nepal. It does not reflect how a buyer on google.com.au or google.com searches for it. They search "handwoven cotton tote bag Nepal" or "fair trade fabric bag Australia." Product titles in the Shopping feed are the primary ranking signal for Shopping ads. Titles built for the wrong audience produce low impressions, low clicks, and wasted spend.

No conversion tracking connecting ad clicks to Shopify orders

Shopping campaigns without conversion tracking are running blind. Spend accumulates. The Google Ads interface reports clicks and impressions. But without a correctly configured conversion action linked to Shopify's order confirmation page, there is no data connecting a Shopping ad click to an actual purchase. ROAS cannot be calculated. Bid strategy cannot optimise. This is the most common setup error on accounts that have been running Shopping ads for months with no verifiable results.

What we engineer

What we do

Entity and Merchant Centre structure review

We assess your current business registration, identify the correct overseas entity to use for Merchant Centre setup, and document the structure needed to pass Google's business verification for Shopping in your target market.

Google Merchant Centre setup and verification

We create or restructure your Merchant Centre account under the correct entity, complete business verification, configure shipping settings for the target country, and resolve any existing account-level suspensions before proceeding.

Product feed build in target market currency and language

We build your Shopping feed with titles, descriptions, and attributes formatted for international search queries. Prices are mapped to the correct currency. Product attributes (condition, GTIN, MPN, brand) are populated to avoid feed errors.

Product title optimisation for international search intent

We rewrite product titles using search volume data for the target market. A title like "Handmade Dhaka Fabric Bag" becomes a title structured around how buyers in Australia, the US, or the UK actually search for that product category.

Shopping campaign and Performance Max structure

We build the campaign structure appropriate for your product range: Shopping campaigns for feed-eligible SKUs, Performance Max where appropriate, with asset groups segmented by product type and ROAS targets set against your margin data.

Conversion tracking setup on Shopify

We install Google Ads conversion tracking on your Shopify store via the Google Ads tag or Google Tag Manager, verify that purchase events are firing correctly, and confirm that conversion data is flowing into the campaign before we consider the setup complete.

Feed audit and ongoing maintenance

Shopping feeds drift. Prices change, products go out of stock, titles accumulate errors. We conduct a structured feed audit as part of setup and establish a maintenance process so the feed reflects your live catalogue accurately.

How it works

How we work

  1. 01

    Diagnostic

We review your current Merchant Centre status, business entity documentation, Shopify feed, Google Ads account structure, and conversion tracking setup. We identify exactly what is blocking Shopping from running and what needs to be resolved before campaigns can go live. This takes one working week.

  2. 02

    Entity and feed build

We document the entity structure, set up or restructure Merchant Centre, build the product feed in the correct currency and language, and complete Google's business verification process. Feed errors are resolved before we move to campaign build.

  3. 03

    Campaign launch

We build the Shopping or Performance Max campaign structure, set ROAS targets against your margin data, configure negative keyword lists, and install conversion tracking on Shopify. We do not launch campaigns until conversion tracking is verified as firing correctly.

  4. 04

    Optimisation and reporting

Once campaigns are live, we run weekly feed audits, monitor impression share and search query data, adjust bids and budget allocation, and report on ROAS, revenue, and feed health monthly. Structural changes to the feed or campaigns are documented and communicated before they are made.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Can a business registered in Nepal run Google Shopping ads?

Nepal is not a supported Google Merchant Centre country, which means a business with a Nepal-only registration cannot set up a Merchant Centre account approved for Shopping campaigns. The practical path for Nepali exporters is to use an overseas entity — an Australian company, a US LLC, or a UK Ltd — to create and verify the Merchant Centre account. The entity must have a real business address in the supported country and be able to pass Google's verification process, which includes domain verification, business address confirmation, and in some cases phone verification.

What entity structure do Nepali exporters use to access Google Shopping?

Most Nepali exporters who run Shopping successfully have either an Australian ABN registered through an Australian business address, a US LLC registered in a state like Wyoming or Delaware, or a UK Ltd. The Merchant Centre account is created under that entity. The Shopify store's business address must match the entity used for Merchant Centre. The Shopping campaigns then run targeting the markets where that entity is registered or where the products are sold. Having a Nepal-based team running operations under an overseas entity is entirely normal and does not prevent this structure from working.

How do I write product feed titles that rank for international Shopping searches?

Shopping feed titles are matched against search queries by Google's algorithm. The title should lead with the most descriptive terms buyers use: material, product type, use case, and key attribute. For a handwoven Nepali product, that means leading with the material and product type as an international buyer would describe it ("handwoven cotton tote bag"), followed by differentiating attributes ("fair trade", "Nepal-made", "natural dye"). Brand names and internal SKU codes belong at the end of the title or not in the title at all. Title length should be 70 to 150 characters. We use Google Trends and keyword volume data for the target market to inform every title rewrite.

What currency should my product feed use for Australian or US Shopping campaigns?

The product feed must use the currency of the target market. For Australian Shopping campaigns, feed prices must be in AUD. For US campaigns, prices must be in USD. Google Shopping does not convert currencies automatically within the feed. If your Shopify store is priced in NPR for your domestic market, you need either a separate Shopify market configured with AUD or USD pricing, or a supplemental feed that overrides the price field with the correct currency values. Running a feed with NPR pricing will cause feed errors and the campaigns will not serve.

How do I set up conversion tracking in Google Ads for a Shopify store?

Conversion tracking for a Shopify store running Google Shopping ads is set up by creating a Purchase conversion action in Google Ads, generating the conversion tag, and placing it on the Shopify order confirmation page. The most reliable method is to add the Google Ads conversion tag through Google Tag Manager, configured to fire on the Shopify /thank_you page with the order value passed dynamically. Shopify's native Google channel can also install basic conversion tracking, but it often misses dynamic revenue values and does not pass all required parameters. We verify conversion tracking is firing correctly using Google Tag Assistant before we consider the setup complete.
