Your Nepali export store needs to rank where the buyers are — on Google in Australia, the US, and Europe, not in Kathmandu

We structure your Shopify or WooCommerce store so that buyers searching for Pashmina, thangka art, Himalayan spices, and Nepali silver jewellery on international Google find your product pages first.

Nepali export stores ranking on google.com, google.com.au, and google.co.uk · Product schema implemented across Shopify and WooCommerce · International hreflang strategy for English-only and multilingual stores · Review aggregation from Etsy, Amazon Handmade, and direct Shopify stores
This is for you if

Who This Is For

You make and export Pashmina, thangka paintings, felt products, or silver jewellery. You have a Shopify store and maybe an Etsy presence. Your product photos are good. Your copy was written by someone in your team in English, but it reads like a translation and does not match what international buyers type into Google. You are getting some traffic from Etsy but your Shopify store gets almost none from search.

You export Himalayan tea, coffee, or spices under your own brand. You have built a website, set up WooCommerce, and invested in packaging. Buyers in Australia, the UK, and the US are searching for the exact products you sell, but your product pages sit on page four or five of Google results. You are not sure whether the problem is your copy, your technical setup, or both.

You carry multiple product lines: ceramics, woodwork, handwoven textiles, and jewellery. Your website has collection pages that group these by type, but the pages have no content — just product grids. Google does not know what any of these pages are about, and none of them rank for the category searches that international buyers use.

What's broken

What's Broken

Product pages written in Nepali-English hybrid copy that does not rank on international Google

Your product descriptions use phrases like "pure handmade Pashmina from Kathmandu valley" but international buyers search "cashmere wrap women" or "handmade Pashmina shawl Australia." The gap between what you wrote and what buyers type is why your pages do not appear in results. Search intent research specific to your export markets needs to drive every word on your product pages.

No schema markup on product pages — Google cannot parse price, availability, or reviews

Without Product schema, Google treats your product page as a generic webpage. It cannot show price, currency, stock status, or star ratings in the search results. Competitors who have implemented structured data appear with rich snippets — review stars, price ranges, availability labels — and draw higher click-through rates even when they rank below you.

Collection pages that mirror Daraz listing structure, not Google-optimised category architecture

Many Nepali store owners have sold on Daraz and built their own sites using a similar layout: a header, filters on the left, and a product grid. Daraz listings rely on Daraz's own internal search. Google needs something different: a collection page with a content block that explains what the category is, who it is for, and why your version is worth buying. Without that, your collection pages compete with each other and with nothing.

No review aggregation strategy — international buyers need social proof that Daraz listings do not provide

Your Daraz reviews are on Daraz. Your Etsy reviews are on Etsy. Your Google Business Profile has a handful of ratings. None of these signals consolidate on your own Shopify or WooCommerce product pages. International buyers searching on Google.com or Google.com.au see no social proof when they land on your store, and your pages do not show review markup in search results. Aggregating and displaying reviews on your own domain is a separate strategy that most Nepali exporters have not built.

What we engineer

What We Do

International Keyword Research by Market

We research what buyers in Australia, the US, the UK, and Europe are actually searching for in each of your product categories. We map those queries to your product pages and collection pages, separating by market where search volume and phrasing differ. The output is a prioritised keyword map for your entire catalogue.

Product Page Copy Rewriting

We rewrite your product titles, meta titles, meta descriptions, and on-page copy using English that matches international search queries. We do not strip your product's story — we make sure that story is framed around the words your buyers use.

Collection Page Architecture and Content

We restructure your collection pages to carry an SEO content block above or below the product grid: a short buying guide section, FAQ, and internal links to related collections. This gives Google content to index and rank for category-level searches.

Product Schema and Review Markup Implementation

We implement Product schema (name, price, currency, availability, brand) and AggregateRating markup across your product catalogue. If you have review sources on Etsy or Amazon Handmade, we build a strategy for aggregating that social proof on your own domain.

Technical SEO: Crawl and Indexation

We audit your site for crawl issues: duplicate URLs from filter parameters, pagination errors, slow product images, broken internal links, and missing canonical tags. We deliver a prioritised fix list with implementation guidance for your developer or in-platform settings.

International Hreflang Strategy

If you target multiple English-speaking markets (AU, US, UK) with the same English pages, we advise on whether hreflang is needed and how to implement it correctly so Google serves the right version to searchers in each country.

Link Building for Export Stores

We identify relevant linking opportunities: craft and fair trade publications, Nepal travel and culture sites, international gift guides, and product review outlets. Backlinks from relevant domains in your target markets strengthen your pages' authority on international Google.

Ongoing Reporting and Iteration

Monthly reporting covers: keyword rank movements by market, organic traffic from target countries, click-through rate by page, and technical health. Each month includes a prioritised action list for the next 30 days.

Competitors who have implemented structured data appear with rich snippets — review stars, price ranges, availability labels — and draw higher click-through rates even when they rank below you.
After Once Product schema and AggregateRating markup are live, Google can show your price, currency, stock status, and review score in the search result itself. Buyers see what they need before they arrive on your page, increasing the quality and intent-level of the traffic you receive.

How it works

Process

  1. 01

    Site and Market Audit

    Week 1-2

We audit your current Shopify or WooCommerce setup: crawl status, indexation, existing keyword rankings by country, product page copy quality, schema presence, and collection page structure. We also run keyword research for your top five product categories across your target markets. You receive a written findings report before any work begins.

  2. 02

    Architecture and Copy Plan

    Week 2-3

We deliver a keyword map, a collection page content plan, and a prioritised list of product pages to rewrite first. We align this with your product catalogue — if you have 200 SKUs, we work highest-value pages first. You approve the plan before execution starts.

  3. 03

    Implementation

    Month 1-3

We execute in order: technical fixes first (crawl, indexation, canonicals), then product schema, then collection page content, then product page copy. We provide implementation files formatted for direct Shopify or WooCommerce upload where possible, reducing the need for developer time.

  4. 04

    Reporting and Ongoing Iteration

    Month 3 onward

Monthly reports track rank movements by market, organic traffic from target countries, and click-through rate changes. Each report includes a 30-day action list. We adjust the strategy as ranking data comes in — if certain product categories are gaining traction faster, we front-load effort there.

Common questions

FAQ

Should I do SEO on my Shopify store or focus on Etsy and Amazon Handmade?

You should do both, but the Shopify store is where SEO investment compounds. Etsy and Amazon Handmade have their own internal search algorithms that you do not fully control, and sales made through those platforms pay marketplace fees. A Shopify store with strong organic rankings on Google gives you direct traffic, no per-sale fee, and an asset you own. Etsy and Amazon Handmade are acquisition channels; your Shopify store is your owned channel. SEO on Shopify builds value that stays with you regardless of what Etsy changes in its algorithm.

How do I rank on Google in Australia when my store is hosted in Nepal?

Hosting location has minimal impact on international Google rankings. What matters is your domain's top-level domain (a .com or country-neutral TLD works fine), your Google Search Console geotargeting settings, the quality and relevance of your product page content for Australian search queries, and backlinks from Australian or internationally relevant domains. We configure your Search Console properties, structure your content around Australian search behaviour, and build relevant external links to signal your store's relevance to that market.

Do I need separate pages for each product variation (colour, size) or one page with variants?

For most Nepali export stores, one product page with variants is the correct structure. Creating separate pages for each colour or size of a Pashmina scarf would split your link authority across dozens of near-identical pages and create duplicate content problems. The exception is when a specific variant has significant independent search volume — for example, if "red Pashmina shawl" and "blue Pashmina shawl" are both searched hundreds of times per month in your target market, separate pages may be worth building. We assess this during keyword research for your catalogue.

How long does it take to rank for product searches internationally?

New or low-authority stores typically begin seeing movement on long-tail product queries (three or more words, lower competition) within three to five months of implementing optimised copy and schema. Broader, higher-competition queries (one or two words) can take six to twelve months. The timeline depends on your domain's current authority, how many product pages are optimised, and the competitiveness of your niche. Handicraft and artisan product categories tend to have lower competition than commodity categories, which works in favour of Nepali exporters.

What is hreflang and do I need it if I only sell in English?

Hreflang is a tag that tells Google which version of a page to show to users in specific countries or languages. If your entire store is in English and you are targeting multiple English-speaking markets (AU, US, UK), you technically do not need hreflang for language differentiation. However, if you want Google to prioritise your .com for US searches and still rank well on google.com.au, using hreflang with country targeting (x-default, en-au, en-us) can help Google serve the right result to the right searcher. We assess whether this is worth implementing based on your traffic split and current indexation.
