PAID REPORTING SYSTEM

Your UK Paid Ads Reports Are Missing the Numbers That Actually Matter

Most UK businesses report on spend, clicks, and platform-reported ROAS — and none of those figures tell you what your paid acquisition is costing per closed customer. We build the reporting system that connects your ad platforms to your CRM and surfaces what the dashboards never show.

This is for you if

Who This Is For

Marketing directors and heads of growth at UK businesses spending £10,000–£150,000/month on paid — You have Google Ads, Meta Ads, and possibly LinkedIn running. You receive separate reports from each platform, and none of them reconcile with each other or with your CRM. Your board wants to know what paid acquisition is contributing to pipeline — not what ROAS the platforms are claiming. You need a single reporting view that connects ad spend to commercial outcomes, delivered in a format that holds up in a board meeting.

Founders and commercial directors who make budget decisions based on paid performance — You are responsible for the paid budget and you are making decisions — whether to scale, which channel to favour, whether the current agency is delivering — based on numbers you cannot fully trust. Platform-reported ROAS is gamed by attribution. You need a reporting system built on clean data that tells you what each channel is genuinely producing at the pipeline and revenue level.

In-house paid teams managing multi-channel campaigns without a unified reporting view — You manage Google Ads, Meta, and possibly Bing. You spend significant time each week pulling numbers from separate platforms, reconciling discrepancies, and building manual reports that are out of date before they are shared. You need a system that does this automatically, on a cadence, in a format your stakeholders can read without explanation.

What's broken

Why most UK paid reporting fails

Platform ROAS is not the same as business ROAS

Every ad platform attributes as much revenue to itself as the attribution model allows. Google Ads, Meta Ads, and LinkedIn all report on the conversions they want credit for — and none of them are working from the same model. When you take the blended ROAS figure from each platform and try to reconcile it against actual revenue, the numbers rarely agree. The figure that matters — what it costs to close a paying customer — is almost never in any platform report.

Spend, leads, and revenue live in separate systems

Your ad spend is in Google Ads and Meta. Your leads are in a CRM — Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, or a spreadsheet. Your revenue is in your accounting system or deal records. Nobody has connected these three. As a result, you can see cost per lead from the ad platform, but you cannot see cost per qualified lead, cost per pipeline opportunity, or cost per closed deal without building the connection yourself.

Reports are built manually and arrive late

Most UK businesses are still producing paid performance reports by hand — exporting CSVs from platforms, pasting figures into spreadsheets, and emailing them weekly or monthly. This means the report is always describing the past, is prone to human error, and takes time that should be spent on analysis or execution. By the time it lands in a stakeholder's inbox, the data is already several days old.

No standard weekly and monthly reporting cadence

Without automated delivery, reporting frequency is determined by whoever builds the report. Important shifts in performance — a campaign suddenly spending out of budget, a CPA spike, a quality drop in lead volume — go unnoticed until someone happens to log into the platform. A reporting system should surface those changes as they happen, not when someone remembers to check.

What we engineer

What the reporting system includes

Data source connections

We connect all active paid channels — Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and Microsoft Ads where relevant — alongside GA4 and your CRM. Where call tracking is in place (CallRail, ResponseTap, or similar), we include that data source. Each connection is set up to pull at the correct refresh cadence so the dashboard is always current without manual intervention.

Dashboard build in Looker Studio

We build the primary reporting view in Looker Studio — the most widely used paid reporting platform for UK businesses and the one best suited to sharing with board members, agency partners, and senior stakeholders. The dashboard is structured around the metrics that matter at each level: spend and impression share at the channel level, CPA and lead volume at the campaign level, pipeline value and cost per closed customer at the business level.

Weekly and monthly report templates

We configure automated weekly and monthly report snapshots that are delivered to nominated recipients on a set schedule. Weekly reports surface channel-level performance shifts, spend pacing, and CPA movement. Monthly reports provide the full picture — spend versus budget, pipeline contribution by channel, lead quality trends, and a channel comparison that allows budget allocation decisions to be made on current data.

CRM and pipeline integration

Where your CRM is connected, we pull lead status and deal stage data into the dashboard so you can see — by channel and campaign — not just how many leads were generated but what proportion progressed to qualified, proposal, and closed. This is the connection most reporting setups do not make. It is also the connection that changes how budget decisions get made.

Lead quality and call tracking integration

If you use call tracking, we include call volume, duration, and outcome data alongside web form conversions so the total conversion picture is visible in one place. Lead quality scores from your CRM — where they exist — are connected so that channels driving low-quality leads are visible alongside channels driving high-value pipeline.

What changes

What Changes

Before
After
Before A single source of truth for paid performance
After After the build, everyone in your organisation — marketing lead, founder, board — is looking at the same numbers. There are no longer four different ROAS figures from four different platforms. There is one agreed view of what paid acquisition is producing, built on data that connects spend to outcome.
Before Budget decisions based on pipeline value, not platform metrics
After You will be able to see — by channel, by campaign, and by time period — what each pound of ad spend is producing at the pipeline level. Channels that generate high lead volume but low pipeline value become visible. Channels that produce fewer leads but higher-value opportunities become visible. Budget allocation improves because the information it should be based on is now accessible.
Before Reporting time recovered
After Manual report building stops. The time your team was spending pulling CSVs, reconciling platform data, and formatting spreadsheets each week is replaced by a system that does it automatically. That time returns to analysis, optimisation, and execution.
Before Board-ready reporting without preparation time
After The monthly dashboard is structured to be shared with a board or senior leadership without additional formatting or explanation. Spend versus budget, pipeline contribution, and cost per closed customer are presented in a format that a non-specialist can read and act on. UK SME and enterprise stakeholders receive a report that meets the standard they expect.
Common questions

FAQ

Which dashboard tools do you build in?

Looker Studio is the primary build environment for UK clients and covers the majority of use cases. Some clients request Databox or Agency Analytics — typically where those tools are already in use across other reporting functions. We build in the tool that best fits your existing stack and stakeholder preferences. Looker Studio is free to use and widely accessible, which makes it the default for most UK engagements.

Do you need access to our CRM?

Connecting CRM data — lead status, deal stage, and pipeline value — is what separates a paid media dashboard from a business performance dashboard. We need read access to the relevant CRM fields to build the pipeline integration. We do not require write access and we do not modify any CRM records. If there are data sensitivity constraints, we work with your IT or operations team to establish an appropriate access arrangement.

What if our conversion tracking is not set up correctly?

A reporting system built on inaccurate conversion data will produce inaccurate reports. Before building the dashboard, we review the conversion tracking across all connected platforms. Where we find errors — duplicate events, misfiring tags, missing call tracking — we document them and either fix them as part of the engagement or provide clear instructions for your team to do so. We do not build on data we know to be wrong.

How long does the build take?

A standard build — Google Ads, Meta Ads, GA4, one CRM, with automated weekly and monthly reports — takes approximately 10–14 business days from the point at which all platform access is confirmed. More complex builds involving multiple CRMs, custom data blending, or additional paid channels take longer. We provide a specific timeline after the initial scoping conversation.

Can the dashboard be shared with our board or external stakeholders?

Yes. Looker Studio reports can be shared via a view-only link with any stakeholder who has a Google account — including board members, investors, or agency partners. The dashboard is designed to be readable without explanation, which is specifically why we structure the pipeline contribution and cost-per-closed-customer views to be the primary read for senior stakeholders.

One dashboard that connects ad spend to pipeline and revenue

The reporting system connects your Google Ads, Meta Ads, GA4, and CRM into a single Looker Studio dashboard with automated weekly and monthly delivery. You stop building reports manually, your board sees pipeline contribution rather than platform ROAS, and budget decisions are made on data that reflects what paid acquisition is actually producing for your business. The build takes approximately two weeks.
