FEED & MERCHANT CENTRE

Nepal is not a supported Google Merchant Centre country — here is the entity structure and feed setup that gives Nepali exporters access to Shopping

Nepali exporters who register their Merchant Centre account under a Nepal address are rejected before a single product goes live. The fix is structural: an international business entity, a correctly configured GMC account under a supported country, and a product feed built for the target market's currency, language, and shipping rules. We handle the setup so your products appear in Shopping results in Australia, the US, or the UK.

This is for you if

Who This Is For

This service is for Nepali export brands selling physical products internationally — pashmina, handicrafts, tea, wellness products, apparel, and handmade goods — who want to access Google Shopping as a product discovery channel. It is also for brands already running Google Ads who have not been able to get their Merchant Centre account approved, or whose feed is generating disapprovals they cannot resolve.

If your business is registered in Nepal and you want Shopping ads or free product listings in Australia, the US, or the UK, this is where to start.

What's broken

Four feed and Merchant Centre problems that block Nepali exporters from Google Shopping entirely

Merchant Centre account registered under Nepal

Google Merchant Centre does not support Nepal as a seller country. An account registered with a Nepal address — even with a valid Nepali business registration — will be rejected or suspended. Running Shopping ads or appearing in free product listings requires a GMC account registered under a supported country: Australia, the United States, or the United Kingdom. This means Nepali exporters must operate through an international business entity or subsidiary. Many Nepali brands discover this only after spending time setting up their feed and waiting for an approval that will never come.

Product feed using NPR currency

Shopping campaigns require the feed currency to match the target market. A product feed priced in Nepali Rupees cannot be approved for Shopping placements in Australia, the US, or the UK. The feed must use AUD for Australian Shopping, USD for US Shopping, or GBP for UK Shopping. The prices displayed must also match what a buyer sees at checkout on the landing page — a price mismatch between the feed and the storefront is a separate disapproval trigger.

No GTIN or MPN on product listings

Handmade and artisan products do not have barcodes. Google Merchant Centre requires either a valid GTIN (barcode), a Manufacturer Part Number, or an explicit `identifier_exists: false` attribute set in the feed for each product. If none of these is present, the product receives a feed disapproval for missing unique product identifier. Most Nepali export catalogues — pashmina, thangka, hand-knotted rugs, ceramics — are handmade and require the `identifier_exists: false` declaration to resolve this error. Missing this attribute is the single most common feed error for Nepali exporters.

Shopify product titles used directly in the feed

Shopify product titles are written for catalogue navigation, not Shopping search queries. A title like "Handmade Pashmina Shawl" does not match how buyers in Australia or the US search for the product ("women's cashmere wrap shawl Australia" or "large pashmina scarf soft luxury"). Using Shopify titles directly in the GMC feed means products appear for weak or irrelevant queries, or do not appear at all. Feed title optimisation using a supplemental feed allows rewritten Shopping titles without overwriting the Shopify product catalogue.

What we engineer

Feed & Merchant Centre for Nepali exporters — from entity structure to Shopping-eligible feed

Entity structure guidance

We advise on the correct international business entity configuration required to register a compliant Google Merchant Centre account under Australia, the US, or the UK — including what documentation GMC requires at account creation.

GMC account setup and verification

We configure the Merchant Centre account correctly from the start — business information, website verification, shipping settings, return policy, and payment information — to avoid the account-level suspensions that catch most new accounts.

Product feed configuration

We build or audit the product feed for the target market: correct currency, correct language, correct shipping attributes, GTIN/identifier handling for handmade products, and all required and recommended attributes filled.

Shopify feed export configuration

We configure the Shopify-to-GMC export (via Shopify's Google Sales Channel or a feed tool) and build supplemental feeds to override titles and add custom labels without modifying the Shopify catalogue.

Feed error resolution

We audit existing feed errors in GMC, identify root causes, and resolve disapprovals for missing attributes, price mismatches, landing page issues, and policy violations.

Free product listings

We configure the free product listings feature in GMC so your products appear in organic Shopping results in the target market without paid spend.

Integration with Shopping campaigns

Once the feed is approved and healthy, we connect it to Shopping campaigns or Performance Max and configure custom labels for campaign segmentation.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions about Google Merchant Centre and product feeds for Nepali exporters

Can a business registered in Nepal create a Google Merchant Centre account?

Google does not support Nepal as a seller country in Merchant Centre, which means a business registered only in Nepal cannot create an approved GMC account. To run Shopping ads or appear in free product listings in Australia, the US, or the UK, a Nepali brand needs to register its Merchant Centre account under one of those supported countries. This requires either an existing international business entity — an Australian company, a US LLC, or a UK limited company — or a subsidiary or trading entity established in the target market. The GMC account must be registered under that entity's address and business details, not the Nepal registration.

What entity structure do Nepali exporters need to run Google Shopping ads?

Nepali exporters need a business entity registered in a Google Merchant Centre supported country — Australia, the US, or the UK are the most common choices for Nepali export brands. The entity does not need to be large or complex: an Australian registered business (ABN), a US sole proprietorship or LLC, or a UK limited company all satisfy GMC's seller country requirement. The GMC account is then registered under that entity. The Shopify or WooCommerce store should have a shipping address and checkout currency consistent with the target market. We advise on entity structure during the audit phase but do not provide legal or company formation services directly.

How do I handle GTIN requirements for handmade products in Google Merchant Centre?

Handmade and artisan products that do not have manufacturer-assigned barcodes are exempt from the GTIN requirement in Google Merchant Centre, provided the `identifier_exists` attribute is explicitly set to `false` in the feed for each affected product. Without this declaration, GMC treats the missing GTIN as a feed error and disapproves the product. Setting `identifier_exists: false` tells GMC that the product is handmade or custom and does not have a barcode — the product is then approved without a GTIN. This applies to the majority of Nepali export catalogue items: pashmina, thangka paintings, hand-knotted rugs, ceramics, and other handcrafted goods.

How do I create a supplemental feed to optimise titles without changing my Shopify product names?

A supplemental feed is a secondary data source connected to your primary GMC feed that overrides or supplements specific attributes — in this case, product titles — without modifying the original data source. You create a Google Sheet or use a feed management tool (such as DataFeedWatch or Feedonomics) containing the product ID column and a revised `title` column with Shopping-optimised titles. This supplemental feed is uploaded to GMC and mapped to override the title from the primary Shopify feed. The result is that your Shopify product names remain unchanged while your Shopping ads run with titles written for the search queries buyers in Australia or the US are actually using.

What currency should a Nepali exporter's product feed use for Australian or US Shopping?

A product feed targeting Australian Shopping must use AUD as the feed currency. A feed targeting US Shopping must use USD. Google Merchant Centre does not convert currencies — the feed price must be in the currency of the target market's GMC account, and the price shown in the feed must match the price shown to buyers at checkout. For a Nepali exporter selling into both Australia and the US, this typically means two separate feeds (one in AUD, one in USD) or a multi-currency feed tool that generates market-specific outputs from a single source catalogue.
